ADMETA from the 20th Anniversary to Today

Since the beginning of the 2010s, ADMETA has been in a constant state of trial and error in response to the situation in industry and society.
Figure 8 shows the number of papers from the first meeting of ADMETA to the last plenary meeting in 2019. It can be seen that the number of papers has been steadily increasing until 2010, which is considered to be the result of expanding the target technical fields and promoting various discussions, as described in the 20th-anniversary booklet. As a result, the record number of presentations was significantly updated in 2010.

On the other hand, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred in March 2011, and there were concerns that the business environment of each company would deteriorate and the number of visitors from overseas would drop. As it turned out, these fears were unfounded, and the number of papers has remained at the pre-earthquake level, although it has declined since 2010.
In 2011, we held the ADMETA plus 2011 at Shibaura Institute of Technology, and in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017, we held ADMETA at Yayoi Auditorium Ichijo Hall, University of Tokyo. Finally, in 2019, the year after the conference in China, we returned to the University of Tokyo's Sanjo Conference Hall, the symbolic venue of ADMETA, to hold the conference.
In addition, in order to strengthen cooperation overseas as an international conference, ADMETA was held in Korea in 2015 and in China in 2018 under the efforts of local committee members, contributing to the further development of interconnect technology in Asia.
Unfortunately, due to the onslaught of COVID-19, it was not possible to hold the ADMETA conference in 2020. On the other hand, in order to continue the activities of human resource development, which is the main scope of the ADMETA, only tutorials were conducted completely online, and many people participated in them. The know-how gained in this process has contributed greatly to the organization of ADMETA plus 2021.
In the future, ADMETA will be further developed as a forum for discussions that will contribute to the research and development of many people by making full use of the options obtained through the various experiences so far.
